The Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacíonal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), is one of the largest publishing conventions in the Americas. Yet, more than that, it is a massive cultural event that is open to authors whose creativity comes from a wide range of backgrounds.

So, for C. Jewerll Williams, it's an event where his book will be right at home.

Williams is the CEO of Remoc Films, an independent company that also sells his widely popular children's books. For the 2024 Guadalajara International Book Fair, he'll be exhibiting “Trent & the Last Plum,” a book he self-published back in 2016 and had just finished translating into Spanish.

“Trent & the Last Plum” is a story that's actually pretty close to his heart as it was inspired by real events in his childhood. The children's book follows a little boy named Trent who saw that there was only one fruit left on his favorite plum tree. Yet even as he strives to get it, he would soon learn a powerful life lesson that Williams hopes to pass on to young readers.

Williams credits much of his creativity to a tenacious and visionary determination that always saw him through in his career. After studying film production at Georgia State University, he landed a job as a production assistant that had him working on a number of hit films like “Nappily Ever After,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” and “MacGyver.” The exhibition of “Trent & the Last Plum,” both English and Spanish versions, at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2024 is just one more step on his journey to pursuing his calling as a creative writer.

Visitors to the 2024 Guadalajara International Book Fair can find “Trent & the Last Plum” by C. Jewerll Williams displayed at the exhibit of ReadersMagnet, a self-publishing and book marketing firm, at stands GG40 and GG42. The company will be exhibiting from November 30 to December 4, 2024. The book fair will be running from November 30 to December 8, 2024, at Expo Guadalajara, Av. Mariano Otero 1499, Colonia Verde Valle, Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. The Spanish translation is available on Blurb. For copies in English, go to Blurb, and the author's website.
